The CNC French Film Archive Collections in the EFG1914 Project

The EFG1914 Project will be an opportunity to discover film productions related to the First World War conflict and its era, in all their diversity, by sharing content chosen by various European partners. Films unknown to the public will also be revealed. The films will be available for viewing on the project portal, along with a virtual presentation that provides context.
The CNC French Film Archives presents approximately 80 films to the project, including films produced both during the war-although authorities were quick to exploit the film industry-and in the post-war period. Fiction, documentary, short, and feature-length films show the War to End all Wars from diverse points of view: propagandist news, patriotic fictions, antimilitarist pamphlets, animated films, historic reconstructions, educational documentaries, and scientific tools.
